This CDL-A Tractor Trailer Driving Training Program is designed to help students become licensed commercial drivers in Washington State. Whether you’re new to truck driving or looking to upgrade your skills, our program prepares you for the Class A Commercial Driver’s License through a mix of classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training.

With 160 total hours of training (40 in-class and 120 in the field), you’ll gain the confidence and capability to handle a tractor-trailer professionally and safely.

Course Objectives

By the end of this program, each student will:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of professional truck driving skills
  • Be prepared to pass the Washington State Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) road test
  • Show professionalism and a strong work ethic suited for a career in commercial driving

Each student will receive structured, hands-on instruction and classroom guidance, with all training hours carefully documented in a personal student driver logbook as required by state regulations.

CDL/A Classes Enrollment Requirements

By the end of this program, each student will:

  • Valid Washington Driver’s License and a Commercial Learner Permit
  • Valid Social Security Card
  • Abstract of Driving Record/Employment (you can get this from www.dol.wa.gov)
  • Department of Transportation Physical Exam and Drug Screen
  • Lawful Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizenship
  • Either a High School Diploma/GED, a College degree, or pass the Department of Licensing knowledge test (covering general knowledge, air brakes, and combination vehicles)

CDL/B Classes Enrollment Requirements

By the end of this program, each student will:

  • Valid Washington Driver’s License and a Commercial Learner Permit
  • Valid Social Security Card
  • Completion of 80 total instruction hours (40 classroom + 40 driving/lab)
  • Must meet Washington Department of Licensing eligibility for CDL-B
  • Department of Transportation Physical Exam and Drug Screen
  • Lawful Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizenship
  • Either a High School Diploma/GED, a College Degree, or a passing score on the Department of Licensing (DOL) Knowledge Test (general knowledge, air brakes, combination vehicles)
